Generic Strattera Tablet A Selective Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor for Treatment of ADHD Part 1

Introduction

Approved recently by the FDA of USA for management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Atomoxetine is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor which is used for the treatment of patients suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It affects the chemicals in the brain and nerves that help hyperactivity and impulse control. It should be administered strictly under the supervision of a competent medical professional trained in such disorders, and licensed to use drugs of this class. It blocks and reduces the rate of reabsorption of norepinephrine thereby reducing ADHD symptoms. Norepinephrine is responsible for regulating attention, impulsivity, and activity levels. Atomoxetine is being traded under the brand name Generic Strattera in the form of tablets.

Generic Generic Strattera tablets are intended for the treatment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Dosage & Administration

The Generic Strattera tablets may be taken with food or in empty stomach. Strict adherence to the prescription of your doctor should be followed regarding the doses or the instructions on the medicine may be followed.

The usual adult dose for attention deficit disorder patients is 40 mg once in a day of 24 hours. The doses may be divided in two as 20 mg orally twice a day. After a minimum of three days, the dosage may be increased to 80mg per day. You can either take this dose of 80 mg at a time or may divide it into two doses.
